The story is about a young girl doing everything she can to save her dad. She makes a decision that is unexpected. When she learns the truth about her benefactor will she stay or go? What will happen next?
This was a bit different from what I expected...delightfully so. The story is well written, the characters well developed, and there are some wonderful twists along the way. I'm hoping this is the first in a series, as I'd really like to know what happens next with these characters. Thank you for a lovely read, Claire...I'm looking forward to many more!
This was a way to short first part. There's not enough information to go on to decide if it's a good read or not. There's not enough info about the curse, Monica's mom, the servants, or really anything important. This seems more like a prequel with how they meet than a first part. Other than that it seemed ok. I'll reserve judgement and may change my rating in the future.
This is an interesting start to the series. Monica is a full figured Latino who has just found out her father has cancer. The family does not have the money for treatment so she signs up for a sugar daddy. Hugo live in England and lives like a hermit but in the lap of luxury. He contacts Monica and the suspense begins. This book is well written with an interesting plot. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.
Story is told in first person, which makes the character Monica more relate-able and her situation more personal. The struggle of losing a parent little one 2 is something most people don't have to face until their much older. For Monica death is stealing away precious years. Then the body shaming because she is a confident woman..
In her hour of desperation she turns to a website that puts her in contact with men looking to pay for companionship, the story deeps from there.
This is a short paranormal story, Book One of the series (Beastly Beauty). Monica's father is diagnosed with cancer. She has to find a way to make more money to pay for his treatment. She meets a man, Hugo Sommer, who is seeking a bride. She was raised by her father and she'll do anything to help him. He is her only family. She flies to Britain and assesses Hugo, finding him a strange man, who never goes out at night, and he never goes to the British village by himself. The dialog of this story is in the words of the main character, Monica. She is well described by the author as an innocent young 20-year old. This is an easy-to-read story which will captivate and lure you into the Beast's mansion with Monica. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
